Blood Drive

While most donors are eligible to give blood up to six times per year, 65 percent give only once. You can make a difference by donating blood on August 23rd with the Scorpions Booster Club at the Southgate Mall, 3140 South 4th Avenue, from 10: am to 3: pm.  Give blood and you could drive away with a Saturn of your choice!  Walk in or call Natalie at 480-675-5416 to make an appointment.

Yuma Aglow Lighthouse

Yuma Aglow Lighthouse will meet Saturday, August 23rd, at the Ramada Inn, 300 East 32nd Street.  The luncheon begins at 10:45 am, with Jonathan and Kylie Williams speaking on 'Praise & Worship In Song & Dance'.  The buffet luncheon is $11.  Please RSVP to Elaine at 782-9377.

2nd Annual Fur Ball for the Humane Society

The Humane Society of Yuma is proud to announce the 2ndt Annual Fur Ball, Saturday, August 23rd at 6: pm.  The Ball will be held at the Sonoran Pueblo Banquet Hall at MCAS, but you have to RSVP by August 9th to gain entry onto the base.  The ball is complete with a live and silent auction, dinner and music.  The event is formal, but black tie is optional.  All proceeds will benefit the animals by providing them with a new rescue shelter.  Go to www.newshelterforyuma.com for more details.

Barnyard Night at the Ballpark

The Yuma Valley Achievers 4-H Club will be at the Scorpions Ballpark for Barnyard Night on Saturday, August 23rd at 6: pm.  The Saddles of Joy will be on hand with some of their wonderful therapy horses that you can ride and some critters from their petting zoo.  Tickets are $6 and available from Saddles of Joy or the Yuma Valley Achiever's 4-H members.
