Welcome Neighbor-Family Fun Day
Faith Lutheran Church is hosting a "Welcome Neighbor / Family Fun Day" on Saturday, September 6, 2008. This event is sponsored by Thrivent Financial and is for children 3-12 years old. There will be a free bicycle tune-up for the first 60 children from Mr. B's Bicycles. There will be free bicycle safety inspections and the police department will be setting up sever obstacle courses for children to ride through.
There will also be table tennis, waushoes and various booths with refreshments like popcorn and snow cones. Faith Lutheran Church is located at 2215 S. 8th Avenue next to Sanguinetti Part. For more information call 7837429.

Blood Drive
Red blood cells are the most frequently needed component of whole blood. They carry oxygen and nutrients to the body's tissues and organs and are required for surgery and trauma patients, as well as premature babies. You can donate blood on September 6th at Springhill Suites in their Yuma Meeting Room, at 1825 E 18th Street, from 9: am to 2: pm. Walk in or call Natalie at 480-675-5416 to make an appointment.

Annual Free to Read Book Fair
The Friends of Yuma County Libraries and Yuma Reading Council are partnering with Barnes & Noble for the Free to Read Book Fair & Fundraiser on September 6th and 7th. This is the kickoff for Naitonal Library Card Sign Up Month and Literacy Awareness Month. On Saturday there will be activities from 10:30 am to 6: pm, including storytimes, crafts, puzzles, entertainment and more.
