Week of the Young Child Event
The Yuma County Association for Education of Young Children will be hosting the annual Week of the Young Child Event on Saturday, April 17th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the West Wetlands Park, 282 N. 12th Ave.  This is a fun, free event for children and their families to come and experience arts, crafts and music and movement activities provided by Yuma area children's programs.  The Mayor will kick-off the morning by reading the Proclamation for Young Children at 9 a.m. and activities will continue until 1 p.m..  Look for chalk painting, bag puppets, painting, cookie decorating, newspaper hat construction and other fun activities for you and your child.

Crossroads Mission Benefit Yard Sale
Yard sale benefit for Crossroads Mission will be held at Desert Rose Retirement, 1545 S. 14th Ave on April 17th from 9 a.m. to Noon.  Come and check out the many items we will be offering for sale.  Bring 6 canned goods or 6 non perishable items and receive a complimentary dinner in our private dining room at Desert Rose.  All food and all the proceeds from the sale will go to the Crossroads Mission.

Paint the Town Red
The Salvation Army Boys & Girls Clubs Annual "Paint the Town Red" 2010 Dinner & Auction, Saturday, April 17th, 5:30 p.m. refreshments, 7 p.m. Dinner at The Historic Gowan Building back patio.  Tickets: $40/person. Table sponsors available.  For more information or reservations call 783-0181.

AWC Community Band Concert
The AWC Community Band will be presenting their second spring concert for the semester on Monday, April 19th at Gila Ridge High School’s auditorium at 7:00 pm. The concert will feature music from Mexico, England, United States and Brazil. For more information, please contact Professor Pollard at (928) 344-7573.
