What Seniors Need To Know
The Yuma Community Foundation presents "What Seniors Need To Know" a free credit consumer services workshop on Monday, April 19th with 2 workshops, 8:30 a.m. and 1 p.m at the Main Yuma Library. The workshop will have information on avoiding scams, wills, tax laws and other ways to leave property to individuals and charities. For reservations or more info call 539-5343.

Walk A Mile In Their Shoes
The Yuma County Victim’s Right Committee and the Yuma County Attorney invite the public join in the event at Ray Smucker Park located at 2930 S. Avenue "A" on Monday, April 19, 2010, at 5:30 p.m. There will be numerous exhibits displayed along the one mile trek made up of various agencies and organizations that serve and support crime victims, their families, friends and the community. Arizona Public Service and the Yuma County Sheriff’s Posse will be serving hot dogs and refreshments until they’re gone. In addition, the Yuma County Attorney, Jon Smith, will speak on issues related to victims’ rights and the reasons behind the national event and Yuma County Supervisor, Russell McCloud will read the Proclamation. Joining Mr. Smith and Supervisor McCloud, will be a victim survivor who will provide testimony regarding the criminal conduct that she was subjected to, the support she received and how the whole ordeal has impacted her life. "It is expected to be a very informative event and one of hope for our community . . . that as a victim of crime you do not have to stand alone in Yuma County, that you have a voice and there are people right here who care and will do what they can to support you," Smith concluded.
