The Yuma Youth Choir is proud to present “Change a Child, Change the World” concert on
April 9th at 7 pm at the Historic Yuma Theatre. The theme of the concert is the transformational power of music. Beautiful choral pieces such as Mozart's "Ave Verum Corpus" will be intermixed with a vocal jazz rendition of "Smile." The YYC men will perform a tantalizing rendition of "Mister Cellophane" from Chicago, and the women will present a new piece by Z. Randall Stroope entitled "The Poet Sings."
The Yuma Youth Choir is made up of about 50 students ranging in age from 7 to 21 years old and is sponsored by a grant from the Yuma Community Foundation. The concert will also be featuring Yuma Youth Choir alumni who will return to perform and sing.
Admission for the concert is $5. Proceeds made will benefit choir scholarships and YYC’s 2010 performance tour to Italy. Tickets for the concert can be purchased at the Historic Yuma Theatre or by contacting Francisco Aguilar at 928-550-1170 or by emailing yumayouthchoir@yahoo.com.
