The City of Yuma Parks and Recreation Department has opened registrations for swimming lessons starting Monday, May 5, offering a great opportunity for local families to get ready for summer swim season.
Classes will begin Monday, June 2 at Marcus Pool (545 W. 5th St.) and Carver Pool (1250 W. 5th St.). The cost for lessons is $28 for residents within Yuma city limits and $42 for non-residents.
This year, the Greater Yuma Water Safety Alliance (GYWSA) has set two clear goals for the community: to expand access to swim lessons for infants and preschool-aged children, and to offer free CPR and water safety training for residents throughout Yuma County. These efforts are designed to give families the tools they need to stay safe in and around water—from building early swim skills to knowing how to respond in an emergency.
For scholarship details or to register for swimming lessons, visit the Parks and Recreation Department located on the first floor of City Hall, or call (928) 373-5200.
