Bountiful BasketsEvents

Bountiful Baskets is a group of people who choose to pool their money and purchase produce in large quantities from resalers at deep discounts; typically 6 fruits and 6 vegetables. This allows people to have more fresh produce for less money. There are also specialty items available at additional cost such as delicious sourdough or artisan or sandwich breads (all preservative-free) or items like organic maple syrup and bulk produce boxes. To participate, you must set up a free account on this website: https://www.bountifulbaskets.org/
Contributions are accepted beginning Mondays roughly at Noon local time, to Tuesday at 10 pm Mountain Standard Time or Arizona Time.
Location: Southgate Mall (Southeast parking lot)
Pickup every other Friday at 9am.
We love volunteers! If you are able to take a turn a few times a year, then show up at 7am and help us transfer produce from delivered boxes into participant baskets for pickup. Bringing a dolly or a wagon is optional but helpful.

All proceeds go directly to support our mission to reduce the number of homeless pets through adoption, rescue, and spay and neuter programs.

BBB: Ethical Torch Essay ScholarshipEvents

 

Many high school students learn lessons in life by demonstrating resilience to overcome ethical dilemmas. Oftentimes, these stories are left untold, but they should be shared to inspire others to do the right thing even when no one is watching, and the BBB Ethical Torch Essay Scholarship does just that. Students are invited to write a 500-word essay that reflects on a meaningful experience or life lesson that proved making the right choice with positive morals was the best path forward. High school students in Greater AZ are eligible to apply and five winners will each be awarded $500-$1,500 in scholarships to be used for college tuition and expenses.

To submit an application or to learn more, visit torchessay.bbbcommunity.org. Submissions are accepted now through October 20, 2025; winners will be announced at BBB’s Torch Awards for Ethics celebration on November 19, 2025 and on the website.

Swiss America and Valley of the Sun-Camelback Kiwanis Club are sponsors for this year’s scholarship program.
